On master’s level, which is second degree studies we offer management course.

The course has practical profile. All classes are conducted in English language. In addition, we have Polish language class for our students.

We have two option on master’s degree level:

  • MBA – master’s in business administration
  • MHTM – master’s in hospitality and tourism management

Management studies

Course descriptions

This is the management course giving students the broadest perspective and the biggest opportunity for professional career and future in the business area. This course is designed for those who think about running own business or working as managers in the companies in different part of economy. It is designed to create modern leaders and managers, full of knowledge, skills, and competences, who will be able to cope with different business issues and conduct business operations in current world. The course will also give the international and global business perspective, so our graduates will be able to work and act in various parts of the world.

Second degree studies last no shorter than four semesters. Number of hours should not be less than 800. Number of ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) should not be less than 120.

MBA – Master’s degree in Business Administration

The course is designed as the mix of different subjects related to business operations focused on general economy, entrepreneurship, finance and banking, management of human recourses as well as marketing, promotions, and public relations. All areas are taken from the international and global perspective. The graduates will get advanced knowledge, skills and competences which will be useful:

  • to effectively manage the enterprise,
  • to conduct the recruitment process and effectively manage people as capital,
  • to use economic and legal conditions to create and develop forms of individual entrepreneurship,
  • to appreciate the importance of new management concepts and methods.

As the University we offer also extra-curriculum workshops, the internships as the part of Erasmus program implemented in different countries of the European Union as well as paid internship under the Europeans Union programs.

The graduates of master’s in business administration are prepared to work in managerial positions (middle and senior level managers), as well as they are able to run successfully own business After completing the MBA course, the graduates will be able:

  • to understand basic principles and rules of global economy.
  • to open and to run own business,
  • to understand the idea of HR management and successfully deal with different issues in this area
  • to understand and be able to control financial aspects of business,
  • to understand banking issues and be able to cooperate with banking system in order to run the business
  • to understand the principles and rules of marketing promotion ad PR and be able to use them for the good of the company.

MHTM – Master’s degree in Hospitality and tourism management

This is the management course giving students the opportunity to learn about managing the hospitality and tourism industry This course is designed for those who think about running own business or working as managers in the different organization related to tourism and hospitality industry. It is a field which focuses on all aspects of hospitality operations including hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, country clubs, and convention centers as well as focuses on tourism development, management of the travel industry, issues related to tourism marketing and tourism services.

As the University we offer also extra-curriculum workshops, the internships as the part of Erasmus program implemented in different countries of the European Union as well as paid internship under the Europeans Union programs.

The graduates of master’s in hospitality and tourism management are prepared to work in managerial positions (middle and senior level managers), as well as they are able to run successfully own business in the area of hospitality and tourism. The graduates will be:

  • prepare to work as an advisor, consultant, specialist, middle and senior manager in capital management system for hotel and tourism institutions,
  • prepare to manage the staff in organizations,
  • prepare to manage the organization of different tourist events and other activities in the area of hospitality and tourism

Required documents ror Master’s degree studies:

  • Passport
  • High School documents (10th grade educational documents + 12th grade educational documents – certificate as well as marksheets)
  • Bachelor’s degree documents (certificate as well as marksheets),
  • Language Certificate if available (the language certificate such as IELT, TOEFL or others are not necessary),

Access to further studies:

the graduate is authorized to seek enrollment in post-graduate courses and doctoral studies

Professional status:

A graduate from "Management" field of studies, at the level of second-cycle studies achieved the learning outcomes implemented by the Resolution No. 11/2023 of the Senate of the Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów of 20th June 2023.

- the Act of 22nd December 2015 on the Integrated Qualifications System (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 226),
- Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 14th November 2018 on the characteristics of the second level of learning outcomes for qualifications at levels 6-8 of the Polish Qualifications Framework (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 2218 as amended),
- Learning outcomes implemented by Resolution No. 9/2020 of the Senate of the Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów of 16th June 2020.

KNOWLEDGE:
- K2P_W01 has deepened and expanded knowledge about the nature of management sciences, about scientific theories and major development trends relevant to the direction of scientific disciplines, their place and importance in the sciences and their relations to other sciences, including economic sciences, in particular knowledge about the influence of categories, rights and economic relations on management, as well as other key specific issues.
- K2P_W02 has an extensive knowledge about the fundamentals of legal science, including knowledge about the condition and impact of norms and legal rules on management; has deepened knowledge about the selected systems of norms and rules (legal, organizational, professional, moral, ethical) organizing social structures and institutions, knows basic standards and OSH regulations and applies them in professional work.
- K2P_W03 has deepened knowledge about the essence, forms, principles and problems of the organization, in particular the public enterprises and institutions, and organizational security structures.
- K2P_W04 has broad knowledge about the human being and its features as the creator of the culture and subject of society, constructing the social structures and structures of the organization, and the principles of their functioning in relation to the different areas of human activity (political, economic, cultural); defines and explains the basic concepts, processes and tasks of human resources management, recruitment and selection, interpersonal communication and competence management.
- K2P_W05 has deepened knowledge about the methods and tools (including data acquisition and processing techniques and statistical research techniques) relevant to management sciences in terms of describing social structures and institutions and processes within and between them, understands the specificity of selected research areas and can interpret them in time and space.
- K2P_W06 has deep knowledge about the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilization, about the views on selected phenomena, structures, social institutions and social bonds, their practical applications and their historical evolution (in particular about the historical and modern currents trends of economics), about the processes of their change, regularities, as well as about the methods and theories explaining the complex relationships between them.
- K2P_W07 knows concepts and principles in the field of industrial property and copyright protection and the need to manage intellectual property resources, including the principle of special protection of information assets.
- K2P_W08 has deepened knowledge about integrated management frameworks (including quality management, environmental management and OSH management) in organizations (organizational structures and their components).
- K2P_W09 has basic knowledge about psychological issues related to the management of organizations, especially in the field of presentation and other methods of building the image of the organization.
- K2P_W10 has deepened knowledge about the information as an economic category and its components, consisting of a process and information system; particularly, has a deepened knowledge about the methods and tools for information management, analysis and synthesis of processes and information systems.
- K2P_W11 has knowledge about the selected methods of decision support (in particular - knows the most important methods of mathematical programming and multi-criterion optimization in the sciences of management and economics).
- K2P_W12 describes and explains concepts, processes and tasks in business management, corporate finance, international finance and information technology, and the principles of creating and developing individual entrepreneurship.
- K2P_W13 has deepened knowledge in the area of a chosen specialty of study.
SKILLS:
- K2P_U01 identifies, interprets and explains complex phenomena and processes (social, cultural, political, legal, economic), performing a deeper theoretical evaluation of these phenomena in the aspect of management sciences, properly interprets the phenomena and interrelations between them using the knowledge about scientific disciplines relevant for management, explains the role of culture, ethics and technical progress in the processes of change of contemporary organizations, defines the importance of new concepts and methods of management.
- K2P_U02 utilizes acquired theoretical knowledge in management sciences, extended by critical analysis of its effectiveness and usefulness, and by the skills acquired during internship, for detailed description and practical analysis of social processes and phenomena, and formulates their own opinions; selects critically the data and methods of analysis, as well as appropriate methods and tools, including advanced ICT; puts and verifies simple research hypotheses; has research ability to solve problems in management sciences (formulation and analysis of
problems, selection of methods and research tools, development of results).
- K2P_U03 predicts and models the complex social processes and their practical implications, including social phenomena, using advanced methods and tools specific to management sciences, among them - interprets the functioning of the contemporary world economy, including international trade.
- K2P_U04 in depth, uses normative systems and rules and regulations (legal, professional, ethical) to solve management problems, as well as in the area human and organizational activities.
- K2P_U05 using the received knowledge, formulates and analyzes the various variants of complex and untypical management solutions, independently suggests the solutions, resolves the problems in the right way and implements proposed solutions (in particular, recognizes, diagnoses and resolves the complex human, material, financial and information resource problems, potential opportunities and threats in the sphere of production, trade or services); rationally predicts, designs and implements changes in the development strategy.
- K2P_U06 innovatively performs tasks under unforeseeable conditions; appropriately determines priorities for accomplishing a task determined by him/herself or others; assumes responsibility for the tasks entrusted to him or her; works in a group, accepting various roles in it, among others - manages the human team in various situations, including extreme situations; characterizes the structure of state defense management systems and analyzes and interprets the rules of organization and operation of command in the armed forces.
- K2P_U07 combines human resource management strategy with organizational development strategy (in particular, recognizes the advantages and disadvantages of the human resources management system in terms of interpersonal conflicts that he or she tries to level down), takes care of good human relations within the organization, is open to the needs of employees (including the need to improve their knowledge and professional qualification) and sensitive to the abnormalities in human resources and business management.
- K2P_U08 treats the human resources as the organization's most important strategic resource; thoroughly assess employee performance, analyzes existing employee evaluation and motivation systems, makes critical assessments of these systems, and is able to build an assessment and motivation system which takes into account scientifically developed rules and procedures; identifies the importance of new concepts and management approaches for the professional and intellectual development of the human resources of a particular organization and forecasts the framework for this development.
- K2P_U09 utilizes the marketing knowledge as a social and managerial process and its constituents (components, participants), particularly - the knowledge about marketing tools; being aware of the role of the components of the marketing communication system on the decisions of the customers, competently assesses the relevance of the selection of marketing tools.
- K2P_U10 appropriately selects and uses various sources and information derived from them, evaluates, critically analyzes, synthesizes and constructs the interpretation and presentation of this information - prepares deepened oral and written assignments (in particular - uses it to write a dissertation according to current standards) in Polish and in a foreign language in the field of management sciences, communicates on
specialized topics with diverse audiences; conducts debates and
trainings on selected issues in the field of management.
- K2P_U11 uses the foreign language on B2 + level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and uses on higher level the specialist vocabulary in management and economics.
- K2P_U12 understands the need for lifelong learning, plans and implements them independently, is able to inspire and organize the learning process of others, understands the importance of new concepts and methods of management for the professional and intellectual development of the human resources of the organization and also in business (especially systematically complements the knowledge and skills in management science extended by an interdisciplinary dimension.
- K2P_U13 has deepened skills in the area of a chosen field of study.

- K2P_K01 recognizes the importance of knowledge in the process of solving cognitive and practical problems, while critically evaluates the perceived content.
- K2P_K02 thinks and acts in an entrepreneurial manner, knows and applies economic and legal conditions to create and develop forms of individual entrepreneurship in the provision of management services.
- K2P_K03 has a strong sense of social issues, fulfills social obligations, inspires and organizes activities for the social environment, initiates public interest activities, participates in the preparation of projects and social management tasks, including economic, environmental, legal and political aspects.
- K2P_K04 takes responsible care of the professional roles, taking into account changing social needs, is aware of the importance of professional behavior, develops the profession and maintains the ethos of the profession, adheres to the principles of professional ethics, develops and promotes compliance with these principles; is loyal to the company in which he or she works and is open to the suggestions of employees at various levels and t the suggestions of clients.
- K2P_K05 has deepened social competences in the field of a chosen major of study.
